A short and sweet (but super important) solo episode this week!
1:08ish : I want to talk about something that I’ve been trying to write out and I can’t get it out.
1:50ish : the idea of mantras or affirmations is something that almost everyone will tell you to work with.
2:12ish : Many people use the phrase” I am enough.” You say “yes!” and you use it over and over again. That sounds positive and grounding.
2:26ish : I want to tell you that the idea of being enough…is crap!
2:42ish : enough [ih-nuhf]: adjective
1. adequate for the want or need; sufficient for the purpose or to satisfy desire:
2:52ish : adequate [ad-i-kwit]: adjective
1. as much or as good as necessary for some requirement or purpose; fully sufficient, suitable, or fit (often followed by to or for):
2. barely sufficient or suitable.
3:04ish : Is that who you want to be?
3:18ish : Telling yourself that you are enough is telling yourself to settle.
3:26ish : It’s saying, “I can do this task sure, but there’s someone out there who is better than me.”
3:30ish : That’s bullshit, you deserve so much more than that!
4:15ish : I want to shout from the rooftops. tell you that you deserve so much more than to be defined as enough.
4:25ish : What does the word enough mean to you?
5:05ish : You keep telling yourself that you are enough (ie adequate or settling) then that’s what going to be true.
5:36ish : I want you, more than anything, to be more than enough. I want you to feel worthy of happiness. I want you to feel okay at feeling more than enough.
5:50ish : “I want you to go out there to every social media you have and everyone woman you know and tell her, ‘You are MORE than enough, you deserve to be MORE than enough.’ ”
6:08ish : Take out your journal, right now, and write out: What does the word enough mean? What thoughts does that bring up in your heart, your stomach? Think about the mantra: I am enough. What happens inside of you when you hear that? Do you feel okay or is there lingering “eh that doesn’t feel good.” Play around and try to think of something that feels really really good.
6:39ish : Try mine: :I am MORE than good enough.”
